California Privacy Rights

Additional privacy disclosures and rights for California residents.

Last updated: 30 August 2026

1. Personal information we collect

In the preceding 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information from California residents:

  • Identifiers — IP address.
  • Commercial information — services requested, project type and scope, from our on-site quote-request quiz.
  • Internet activity — browsing and interaction data on our site, referring pages, device and browser data.
  • Inferences — likely interest in specific home improvement services.

We collect this information directly from you and automatically as you use the site. We do not ask for your name, postal address, email address, phone number or ZIP code on HauseNow's own site. If you continue to our partner's site to check your options, any further information you provide there is collected by that partner directly, under its own privacy policy — not by us.

2. Sale and sharing of personal information

HauseNow does not currently sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We do not ask for or collect contact details on this site, and we do not transmit your quiz answers to our partner when you click through to check your options — that partner collects information directly from you, on its own site, if you choose to continue there. If our practices change, we will update this notice before they do.

3. Your California privacy rights

3.1 Right to know

You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, our business purpose, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it — covering the 12 months preceding your request.

3.2 Right to delete

You may request deletion of the personal information we collected from you, subject to the exceptions in section 5.

3.3 Right to correct

You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

3.4 Right to opt out of sale or sharing

You may direct us not to sell or share your personal information. To opt out, email privacy@hausenow.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”.

3.5 Right to non-discrimination

We will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised any of these rights.

4. How to exercise your rights

4.1 Submitting a request

Submit a request by emailing privacy@hausenow.com. Tell us which right you are exercising and provide enough detail for us to locate your records.

4.2 Verification

We must verify your identity before acting on a request to know, delete or correct. We will generally ask you to confirm details we already hold, such as the approximate date and device you used to visit the site. We will not use the information you provide for verification for any other purpose.

4.3 Authorized agents

You may use an authorized agent. We will ask for written permission signed by you and will still verify your identity directly, unless the agent provides a valid power of attorney.

4.4 Response timing

We confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 calendar days. If we need more time we will tell you why and how much longer we need, up to a further 45 days.

5. Limitations on requests

We may decline a request, in whole or in part, where an exception applies — for example where the information is needed to complete a transaction you requested, to detect or prevent fraud or security incidents, to comply with a legal obligation, or to keep records of consent required by law. Where we decline, we will tell you why. Requests to know are limited to twice in any 12-month period.

6. Additional information for California residents

6.1 Shine the Light

California Civil Code § 1798.83 permits residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, email privacy@hausenow.com.

6.2 Do Not Track

Our site does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals, as no common industry standard exists.

6.3 Minors under 16

We do not knowingly collect, sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. If you believe we have, contact privacy@hausenow.com and we will delete it.

7. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice to reflect changes in our practices or in California law. The “last updated” date above will be revised whenever we do.
